VoPay Partners with UNICEF Canada to Break the Cycle of Poverty Through Education

VoPay’s “Inspire Tomorrow” Initiative Supports Education in Developing Nations Through UNICEF

(Vancouver, BC) April 4, 2017– VoPay and UNICEF Canada are partnering under VoPay’s Inspire Tomorrow initiative to aid education in developing nations. Every time a VoPay user sends money overseas, a percentage will be donated to UNICEF Canada and used to create education programs in developing regions.

VoPay and UNICEF Canada recognize the impact of children’s education in breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty, knowing that on average, each additional year of education can mean a 10 percent earning increase for individuals. VoPay will allocate five percent of their transaction fees to support classrooms and teachers in communities with socioeconomic disadvantages.

“In today’s technology-driven world, education plays a particularly important role in social development,” said Hamed Arbabioon, founder of VoPay. “Education continues to be one of the foundations of the global fight against poverty; by fostering greater participation in local and regional economies, in addition to helping individuals and communities reach their full potential.”

VoPay’s ongoing donations will help UNICEF’s sustainable development goals to provide equal opportunity to girls and boys regardless of gender, ethnicity, and religion. Through its global networks, UNICEF reaches communities to support governments in fulfilling their obligation to enforce the right of all children to free education, even during a humanitarian crisis and other unstable conditions.

“Education is a human right. It is the most basic insurance against poverty and one of the most powerful tools for building healthier and stronger societies,” said David Morley, UNICEF Canada President and CEO. “Education has a transformative effect on nearly every aspect of a child’s life. Yet today, approximately 59 million children do not go to primary school. The future of an entire generation is at risk. Thanks to the generous support of Canadians and companies like VoPay, UNICEF works to make sure that every child, no matter their situation, has access to quality education so they can survive, thrive and reach their full potential.”

Every contribution is donated by VoPay on behalf of the individual. VoPay users who donate will be recognized and updated about their donations. Every year people send $25 billion from Canada to countries worldwide. People can now feel good about sending money while having access to a low-cost mid-market rate that no other service can provide in Canada.
