What is an eCheck?
eChecks are the digital equivalent of a paper check that allow merchants to collect payments from customer bank accounts. They use the same banking information as a regular check (i.e. routing number, account number, name) but they are processed much quicker and offer more visibility with less risk of exploitation.
How do I collect money with an eCheck?
To collect money using an eCheck, the customer must agree or authorize the collection before providing their banking details so the payment can be collected. This authorization can be in the form of an order for goods and services, or via a PAD agreement, among other methods.
What are the fees associated with eChecks?
The fees you pay for collecting money using an eCheck will depend on your VoPay plan, however it can be as low as 10¢ and typically runs around 50¢. There are no extra fees or percentages of the amount taken.
How quickly are eCheck funds available?
Funds can be available in as little as 24 hours but can take up to 3 business days.
