Any businesses that wants to pay customers, partners or employees can use Mastercard Cross Border Services to transfer funds quickly and efficiently. Common use cases include payroll, insurance claims, marketplace payments and loan payouts.

Typically transfers arrive within a few seconds. Actual transfer times will depend on the Receiving Institution. Transfers can be subject to checks that delay transfer times.

Mastercard Cross Border Services is considered a very safe method of sending money due to the fact that transfers happen over Mastercard’s secure network. In addition to this, the network uses transaction limits and AML checks to reduce money laundering. All transactions that move through the VoPay platform are encrypted for maximum security, and we have our own AML and transaction monitoring processes in place to reduce fraud and money laundering.

Mastercard Cross Border Services is currently available to Canadian VoPay accounts.

Mastercard Cross Border Services has a hard network limit of $100,000 per transaction for businesses and $25,000 per transaction for consumers. VoPay customers will be eligible for transaction limits up to this amount based on their agreement and risk profile.

Mastercard Cross Border Services is a single-direction payment rail, so funds can only be sent to customers. VoPay offers multiple payment methods such as EFT, ACH, e-Transfer Request, so businesses can create custom fund flows to move money in any direction.

Mastercard Cross Border Services is part of the Mastercard Move portfolio of money transfer products from Mastercard. Mastercard Move comprises of two products, Mastercard Send (the domestic equivalent) and Mastercard Cross Border Services.
